"Over the past year we have been traveling quite a lot and needed to go beyond asking friends and colleagues to look after our dear Zippy so reached out to Kacey at Cooper's Wounded Bear. We have been so happy with the loving attention and kind care that she has received while staying there. Although I still get that lump in my throat and tears as Zippy looks at me at departure time, I also find great peace knowing she will move on in minutes and have a great time!Zippy has a few chronic medical conditions along a few other quirks and so we call her our special needs dog and Kacey always reassuringly looks after all her needs with kindness. We are very thankful to all the team at Cooper's Wounded Bear for their flexibility when we need last minute arrangements. Zippy now gets just as excited to be driving north with us as we head on a trip and I think relieved that she doesn't have to don the skis with us but can relax with her friends in Kasilof.Deepest gratitude."

"This kennel is top notch. If you are looking for a place that is caring, professional, clean, and friendly, this is the place for your 4 legged friend! The kennels are good size and comfortable. They learn the personality of your dog and let them play together in the big closed in yards. No fights here. They have indoor and outdoor kennels. The dogs are happy, healthy, energetic, and tired at the end of the day from all the interaction they receive. I have used Cooper's since she opened up over 30 years ago. I've used them for long term as well as short term boarding. When my dog needed specialized care, there was no hesitation. In my opinion, there is no better place to care for my third "child.""

"Hi Kacey,I just visited your website (well done btw!) and wanted to share with everyone my own experiences with you and your great kennel. First, thank you so much for caring for our dogs over the last 19 years. I remember the first time we boarded Buddy who had separation issues. You took him into your home with your young children to alleviate his anxiety. From that first visit I had such tremendous relief and peace of mind regarding the kenneling of our dogs. Over the years I feel we have developed a great friendship. Your knowledge of animal behavior has helped us to be better dog owners. There have been short stays and 3-5 month stays that would have been terrible at any other kennel. Upon picking up our dogs, every time, they have been happy, socialized, well-adjusted, well behaved, clean, and obviously very well cared for. That makes it so much easier to plan a trip to your place, arranging a 12 hour round trip ferry ride, and a 4 hr round trip drive to get there. We will never consider another place to kennel our dogs. From our first dog with separation issues 19 years ago, to our current three dogs (one of whom is unpredictably aggressive and chronically bothered with ear problems), we are grateful for your flexibility, unfailing good nature, sincere love of the animals and uncompromising care of our pets.We will always be here to recommend Coopers Wounded Bear Farm for anyone wishing to kennel their pet. Thanks again Kacey- See you next time!!!"

"I have been taking my dog(s) to Wounded Bear Kennels since my arrival to Kenai in 1993. I think I was into my second year living here when my mom unexpectantly died. My golden retriever, Max, had stayed only one time at Wounded Bear Kennels; however I was treated as if I had frequented the kennels for a life time. I called Kacey to see if there was space for my dog and she didn’t hesitate to confirm. She must have sensed my despair over my loss and perhaps my inability to plan a quick departure to the Lower 48. She arrived at my apartment and picked up Max! I’ll never forget how appreciative I felt. I was gone for 5 long days which felt like forever; she never charged me for that time.Of course, I am not promoting that she provides kennel service for free; however, Kacey’s kindness speaks for the great care that she has extended to my many dogs, five of them, who have come to stay with her over the last 21 years! I know my dogs are well looked after, are safe from harm, and they will sleep in a clean, sanitary environment. As her “animal care facility” has expanded over the years, she has carefully hired additional staff to help her. Each of these employees have extended the same expert animal knowledge, good common “dog” sense, loving attitude and responsible care that Kacey has shown to my dogs over the years.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wounded Bear Kennels to anyone who has pets they truly love. Max, of course, is long gone but that act of kindness in 1994 will always live with me forever. Thank you, Kacey."
