"I have been taking my dog(s) to Wounded Bear Kennels since my arrival to Kenai in 1993. I think I was into my second year living here when my mom unexpectantly died. My golden retriever, Max, had stayed only one time at Wounded Bear Kennels; however I was treated as if I had frequented the kennels for a life time. I called Kacey to see if there was space for my dog and she didn’t hesitate to confirm. She must have sensed my despair over my loss and perhaps my inability to plan a quick departure to the Lower 48. She arrived at my apartment and picked up Max! I’ll never forget how appreciative I felt. I was gone for 5 long days which felt like forever; she never charged me for that time.
Of course, I am not promoting that she provides kennel service for free; however, Kacey’s kindness speaks for the great care that she has extended to my many dogs, five of them, who have come to stay with her over the last 21 years! I know my dogs are well looked after, are safe from harm, and they will sleep in a clean, sanitary environment. As her “animal care facility” has expanded over the years, she has carefully hired additional staff to help her. Each of these employees have extended the same expert animal knowledge, good common “dog” sense, loving attitude and responsible care that Kacey has shown to my dogs over the years.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wounded Bear Kennels to anyone who has pets they truly love. Max, of course, is long gone but that act of kindness in 1994 will always live with me forever. Thank you, Kacey."

"Cooper's Kennels was my first (and thus far my only) choice in leaving my precious toy poodle, Babybear. I was so worried, nervous and anxious the first time I had to leave my baby. Upon arrival, Kacey did a lot of reassuring to me. She took Babybear in her arms and held him and assured me that he could feel my anxiousness and would feel the same. She was so patient and encouraged me that I could call and check on him as often as I liked. That did it, a few calls in and I believed every word she said about the contentedness and happiness of my baby without me. She explained all of the right things and when I picked him up 12 days later, he was healthy, happy and waggin that tail! Kacey's kennel operation is top-notch, clean, organized, intimate and trust worthy. I'm most impressed with the space that the dogs have while in the kennel. It gives them plenty of room to get up and walk around. Kacey is so incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and as an RN she just adds to the care in so many ways! Babybear has stayed several times since and I am so incredibly comfortable. I actually think it's good for him, so he can have lots of positive dog interaction and be in a dog-filled environment. It's become a little vacation for me as a "mom." Thanks TONS Kacey for all you do and being "there" when I can't be."

"We've boarded our dogs at Cooper's Wounded Bear Kennel for the last 10 years, short- and long-term stays. As with many pet owners, our dogs are part of the family, so knowing that they are safe, well-cared for, loved, and given plenty of attention has given us peace of mind. The kennel is always clean and well kept, a very comfortable environment. There is a large fenced outside area for the dogs to run and play in. They are monitored and given the opportunity to socialize with their "buddies". This has been great for our dogs since they have little contact with other dogs. Our pets have always been quite happy to go to Cooper's; it's become a home away from home (their vacation "hotel"). We are continually appreciative of how their behaviors have improved during their stay. It's obvious that Kacey and her staff have taken the time to work with them. Kacey is an experienced dog handler--she is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviors. Over the years, she has shared techniques and ideas to help us work with our dogs to encourage appropriate behaviors and following commands, as well as keeping them healthy.
Cooper's Wounded Bear Kennel is an outstanding facility with a wonderful staff. We are grateful that they have always taken the time to really get to know our Australian shepherd, Avery, and then Sinatra, our lab-husky mix, always treating them with kindness and respect....as well as expecting their best behaviors. We feel fortunate to have discovered Cooper's. We can't imagine there would be any better place to leave our dogs.....
Thank-you, Kacey!"

"No one likes to kennel their pets, but it is a modern day necessity. For me to feel good about kenneling my beloved dog Tilly, I need a kennel operator who is a true professional: a stickler for details like the correct food/portions, proper/timely medications, lots of daily outdoors exercise, and as much individual attention as can be managed…… Kacey and her staff at Cooper’s Wounded Bear Kennels more than fulfill my expectations in this regard.…. I never have to worry about Tilly once I drop her off in their care."

"I highly recommend Cooper’s Wounded Bear Farms & Kennels to anyone that needs to board their precious pets. I have been taking my pets to Cooper’s for over 15 years. I will continue to use Cooper’s for my boarding needs. Their kennel is always clean and odorless. Kasey and her staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and flexible with dropping off or picking up my pets. I trust Kasey completely with the knowledge she takes very good care of all pets left in her care. Congratulations on 30 years in business!"
